A Landmine of National Historiography: Knowledge Production about History of the
Roma in Slovakia from a Global Perspective.

Abstract: The study provides a state-of-the-art critical analysis of knowledge
production concerning the history of the Roma in Slovakia within a global and
transnational framework. The author addresses the long-standing marginalization
of Roma history in Slovak national historiography, the reproduction of
institutional racism, and epistemic injustice in historical narratives. By
reviewing key publications from the 18th century to contemporary scholarship,
the paper calls for incorporating post-colonial theories, critical whiteness,
and Romani agency into Slovak historiography.
