Historiografia špeciálnych operácií z Veľkej Británie na území Československa
počas druhej svetovej vojny. Stav výskumu, problémy a perspektívy.
The Historiography of Special Operations Conducted from Great Britain in
Czechoslovakia during the Second World War: State of Research, Problems, and
Perspectives.
Historický časopis, 2026, 74, 3, pp. 569-592, Bratislava.
Abstract: The study maps the development of historiography concerning
British-sponsored special operations (SOE, Second Department of Czechoslovak
Ministry of National Defense) deployed into Czechoslovakia during World War II.
It traces the shift from post-war memoirs, through communist-era ideological
distortion and deconstruction of the Western resistance narrative, to
normalisation-era focus on individual parachutists (like Jozef Gabčík), up to
the post-1989 archival boom and contemporary critical scholarship in Czech and
Slovak historiography.
Key words: Special Operations Executive (SOE). Second World War. Parachutists.
Historiography. Intelligence Services. Operation Anthropoid.
