Medieval Notated Fragments from the Slovak National Archives, Collection from the Leles Premonstratensian Monastery Place of Authentication. Historický časopis, 2021, 69, 2, pp. 223–246, Bratislava. Abstract: Source research into medieval musical materials from the territory of Slovakia has brought many new and valuable findings in recent times. The sources include newly discovered musical fragments from various archive, book and museum collections from the 11th to the end of the 15th centuries. Almost all the surviving musical sources contain monophonic Latin liturgical song, so-called Gregorian chant (in Latin cantus planus) of domestic and foreign origin. The manuscript materials from the Kingdom of Hungary include fragments in the Slovak National Archives from the Leles Premonstratensian Monastery place of authentication (locus credibilis). Fragments of four manuscripts with notes represent a scriptorium tradition that is specific from the points of view of content and musical notation. The medieval fragments with notation are preserved as the packaging for documents (Acta anni – varia). They come from four different liturgical books: a Sequentiar from the second half of the 14th century, a Missal from 1350–1375, an Antiphonar from 1350–1375 and a Psaltar with notes from about 1400. The aim of the study is to present the content and significance of these musical materials for research on medieval musical culture, religion and manuscript production in medieval Slovakia. Resumé: Mittelalterliche Musikhandschriften aus dem Slowakischen Nationalarchiv, der Fond „Locus crediblis“ des Prämonstratenserkonvents in Leles. Die neu gefundenen Fragmente ergänzen das Bild der Quellen der mittelalterlichen Musikkultur vom Gebiet der Slowakei, das trotz der großen materiellen Verluste (verlorene, vernichtete und außer Landes gebrachte Handschriften) reich und einzigartig war. Im Bestand des Beglaubigungsortes Leles [Leleský konvent, ung. Lelesz] aus dem Slowakischen Nationalarchiv sind verschiedene liturgische Handschriften erhalten. Es handelt sich um einen seltenen Fund, der offensichtlich aus einem heimischen Prämonstratenserskriptorium stammt. Vom Gebiet der Slowakei gab es bislang keine direkten Beweise für die Tätigkeit der Prämonstratenser. Außer notierten Fragmenten ist auf den Umschlägen der Protokolle des Beglaubigungsortes Leles auch eine interessante Sammlung nichtnotierter liturgischer Bücher erhalten (Homiliar, Missale). Auf den Aktenmappen (Acta anni - varia) sind vier notierte Fragmentegruppen erhalten geblieben. Es handelt sich um 4 verschiedene liturgische Bücher: Sequentiar aus der zweiten Hälfte des 14. Jahrhunderts, Missale aus den Jahren 1350–1375, Antiphonar aus den Jahren 1350–1375 und ein Psalter von der Wende des 14. und 15. Jahrhunderts. Aus inhaltlicher (liturgischer) Sicht handelt es sich um die heimische, d. h. die Graner liturgische Tradition. Das Sequentiar enthält Sequenzen für die Feste der wichtigsten einheimischen Heiligen – der hl. Elisabeth (Sq. Gaude Sion quod egressum) und des Hl. Königs Ladislaus von Ungarn (Sq. Novae laudis attolamus). Die Musikfragmente folgen zwei verschiedenen Notationstraditionen. Die Metzer-gotische Notation wurde verwendet zur Fertigstellung des Sequentiarium und des Psalteriums.
